As a sweater designer, Arielle helps think outside the box. She focuses on sourcing ethical and sustainable factories because it was a major motivation to her in her undergraduate studies. Through research, she found many factories that paid workers livable wages and hours, utilized natural materials, and ensured waste infrastructure were environmentally friendly. Arielle also develops new sustainable materials that are comfortable, affordable, and don't hurt the environment.
"As a designer you really need to know about marketing because you need to make something that people want. You can go to school and make pretty things, but it means nothing compared to making something that changes a person's live experience. This is something I try to focus on as a designer in today's society." -Arielle Pila
